Low power variable optics, often called LPVO's, are rifle scopes defined by their lower magnification settings, often being offered in a 1-4, 1-6, 1-8, or 1-10 configuration and a lack of an objective bell. Many LPVO's have an objective lens that is 24-28mm due to the lack of a traditional objective bell, and most LPVO's are manufactured with a 30mm tube.

LPVO's offer a unique bridge between red dots and traditional rifle scopes. These scopes are better suited for close to mid-range targets with better accuracy than red dots may be able to provide. LPVO's are also lighter and more compact than traditional scopes with higher magnification and a larger objective. LPVO's are the perfect choice when you need to acquire your target quickly but may need the option for additional magnification.
